It depends a little on where you are in the world! In (most of) Australia, the next total lunar eclipse will be in April 2014. A total eclipse is when the moon is completely in the Earth’s shadow. I think the northern parts of Western Australia don’t get to see this totality though.

Related answer – there is going to be a total solar eclipse in North Qld in November 2012! Unfortunately in Brisbane where I am it is only going to be a partial eclipse. For more info:
