I’m a Scientist is like school science lessons meet the X Factor! School students choose which scientist gets a prize of $1000 to communicate their work.
Scientists and students talk on this website. They both break down barriers, have fun and learn. But only the students get to vote.
This zone is the Boron Zone. It has a range of scientists studying all different topics. Who gets the prize? YOU decide!
Not really – any complaints I have are pretty unimportant in the grand scheme of things. Some of the silly rules and procedures that my university has can be annoying – because they mean that some simple tasks like buying a plane ticket can take a lot of time that could be better used doing things that are more interesting! I guess I also dislike having to give people bad news – like they didn’t get the job they applied for, or that their work isn’t up to scratch.

I dislike email. I get around 100 emails per day so I am forever playing catch up.

The amount of time spent on administration, which takes me away from the zoology work itself 🙁

I definitely dislike administration and bureaucracy, especially if things go from straightforward to complicated without good reason. This seems to happen a fair bit!
