When I saw this question in the chat, I thought it was “Do you lick rocks?” 🙂

Rocks are great, especially rocks on other planets! I’m hoping that we can learn a lot from the rocks on Mars. 🙂

Rocks are fascinating! They come in an extraordinary range of colours, forms and crystalline structures. Some are beautiful, others practical or functional. They also tell us a lot about where we live and the geological history of the planet.
The two areas that interest me most about rocks are:
1) The habitats they provide for many different types of animals
2) Being a window to the past, containing the fossil records of animals that have lived for hundreds of millions of years.

I love rocks! (nerd)
Rocks tell us about the history of the Earth, and even about the history of the solar system. They are also beautiful (sometimes). My husband laughs at me if we go out bushwalking and I get distracted by some interesting rocks. That’s the great thing about geology – you start seeing interesting things all around you. Even when you’re in the city, you see some of the most beautiful rocks in the walls of buildings.
