I’m a Scientist is like school science lessons meet the X Factor! School students choose which scientist gets a prize of $1000 to communicate their work.

This zone is the Boron Zone. It has a range of scientists studying all different topics. Who gets the prize? YOU decide!
We have an approximate idea of how big the universe is, but only the parts we can see. This “observable” universe has a diameter of about 93 billion light years, which means that the most distant things we can see are 46.5 billion light years away.
The universe is only 13.7 billions years old, but because the universe is expanding at an accelerating rate, we can “see” things which in principle are further away than 13.7 billion light years. Complicated!
