I’m a Scientist is like school science lessons meet the X Factor! School students choose which scientist gets a prize of $1000 to communicate their work.
Scientists and students talk on this website. They both break down barriers, have fun and learn. But only the students get to vote.
This zone is the Boron Zone. It has a range of scientists studying all different topics. Who gets the prize? YOU decide!
Great question! People have claimed to have seen antimatter in space, but only orbiting the Earth. We expect there to be some antimatter, but so far we have found nowhere near as much as we expect. It is actually one of the great unsolved problems in physics.
As for what antimatter in space could be used for, it’s not completely clear. Many people have suggested that antimatter could be used to fuel spaceships, but at the moment we don’t know how to capture, store it and then convert it into a stable source of energy.
