I’m a Scientist is like school science lessons meet the X Factor! School students choose which scientist gets a prize of $1000 to communicate their work.
Scientists and students talk on this website. They both break down barriers, have fun and learn. But only the students get to vote.
This zone is the Boron Zone. It has a range of scientists studying all different topics. Who gets the prize? YOU decide!
It seems unlikely to me, but as yet no one has discovered any reason why it violates the laws of physics (although it seems to me that it should somehow). I actually went to a talk last week by someone who is thinking about this problem for a single particle of light – they are trying to think of experiments that could be done that would demonstrate that it is or isn’t possible.

I also think that it’s unlikely, although I think that Einstein’s theory of relativity suggests that it might be possible. There are all sorts of problems with causality though: for example, someone could travel back in time and kill one of your grandparents, which would mean you no longer exist. So, I think that this type of thing means that it’s probably not possible.

May not be possible, but the idea itself is incredibly exciting! And fabulous to think that someone is looking into it!

If you could do it – would you change anything?
