Question: what if space and time could not 'work' together. what if it defies einstein's theory. what type of life would earth be??

  1. I’m not sure how to answer your question. All experimental evidence supports Einstein’s theory of general relativity – its the best we have at the moment. You could invent other theories, but it is a lot of work to determine even the basic consequences, let alone speculate about life – we don’t even really understand how it comes about in our current universe!

  3. Science works by investigating what “is” or speculations around concepts that have their basis in fact. Speculation about is left to science fiction writers or philosophers.

  5. I’m not quite sure what you mean here. The best theory that we have about space and time – Einstein’s Theory of Relativity – suggests that not only do space and time work together, but that they are intrinsically linked. So far we have not found anything that defies Einstein’s theory. That doesn’t mean that the Theory of Relativity explains everything though, and there are some aspects of the theory that we have not yet been able to test. There are some things, such as physics at the microscopic level, that relativity does not explain, but quantum theory does. But that’s the subject of another discussion!
