I’m a Scientist is like school science lessons meet the X Factor! School students choose which scientist gets a prize of $1000 to communicate their work.
Scientists and students talk on this website. They both break down barriers, have fun and learn. But only the students get to vote.
This zone is the Boron Zone. It has a range of scientists studying all different topics. Who gets the prize? YOU decide!
Currently, I am researching a couple of topics. I am researching the possible impact of climate change on marine turtles. I track turtles with tracking tags to see how they use their habitats and I research the potential impacts of plastic pollution on marine wildlife

The main research I am currently involved in is investigating hollow nesting fauna (animals). In particular we are looking at preventing bees taking over nesting hollows. This is important because after habitat clearance, European Honey Bees are the biggest threat to our native birds and mammals that depend on tree hollows.
We are also looking at improving the understanding of hollow nesting requirements for a range of birds and mammals using artificial hollows.
