Question: do you ever think that there will ever be something to stop humans from dying?

  1. I don’t know. When our cells replicate, there is a slow accumulation of errors, and the ends of the chromosomes get shorter I think, and I think this somehow contributes to agin. However there is some enzyme that stops this from happening that is used by cancer cells (I can’t remember its name). So maybe this could be utilised for good rather than evil. But I don’t think I would like to live forever!

  3. Medical advances could eventually get to the point where diseases and most injuries could be cured. However there are still likely to be accidents of one sort or another – so I think probably not!

But as Heather implied and the Queen song asks “Who wants to live forever?” Not me.

  5. I agree with Heather on this one. I also think that we would stagnate as a species if we never died, this would mean we’d never have kids and never challenge the system.
