I’m a Scientist is like school science lessons meet the X Factor! School students choose which scientist gets a prize of $1000 to communicate their work.
Scientists and students talk on this website. They both break down barriers, have fun and learn. But only the students get to vote.
This zone is the Boron Zone. It has a range of scientists studying all different topics. Who gets the prize? YOU decide!
For a long time scientists believed that all true dinosaurs laid eggs, but recently there is becoming more evidence and speculation that some were ovoviviparous – eggs incubate inside the female and then she produces live young. This is thought to be the case for ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurs – many fossils of these come from Australia. Some modern reptiles such as some snakes and lizards have this strategy as well. The 2 sites below are Australian dinosaur sites and are well worth a visit if you have a chance

From my understanding all dinosaurs were egg layers. Recently there have been some questions raised about Sauropods. To-date however there has been no conclusive evidence as that they were live-bearers.
As I understand things Mark is spot on about ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurs being ovoviviparous. They were certainly around in the Mesozoic Era, though neither group was classified as dinosaurs, instead they were referred to as marine reptiles.
