Question: where do wormholes lead

Keywords: , ,

  1. As far as I understand it, wormholes are essentially a shortcut to another part of the universe (in space and or time). There is no evidence that they exist – but they are allowed solutions to Einstein’s equations of general relativity. But just because the mathematics is possible doesn’t mean they exist in real life. We know for sure that the theory of general relativity is only an approximation, so what the underlying structure is – who knows?

  2. As Matthew said, wormholes are a theoretical shortcut from one part of the universe to another. I think that someone did a calculation of how much energy you would need to open a wormhole in space and found that it would be something like the entire energy output of the Sun over it’s 9 billion year lifetime!
