I’m a Scientist is like school science lessons meet the X Factor! School students choose which scientist gets a prize of $1000 to communicate their work.
Scientists and students talk on this website. They both break down barriers, have fun and learn. But only the students get to vote.
This zone is the Boron Zone. It has a range of scientists studying all different topics. Who gets the prize? YOU decide!
I’m a big fan of Pluto too! Unfortunately though, there are several things that make it different to the “normal” planets in our Solar System. We now call it a dwarf planet instead.
First, it is very small. It’s actually smaller than the Moon!
Second, it is close to a lot of similar objects out beyond the orbit of Neptune, which are all small.
Finally, it’s path around the Sun is tilted with respect to the other planets; all the planets follow orbits that roughly aligned, but Pluto’s orbit is not.
