Question: Does the universe ever end?

Keywords: , ,

  1. Not really! We currently think that the Universe will exist forever. The galaxies are all getting further and further apart, and eventually they will be so far apart that we won’t be able to see them. Also, in many billions of years from now all the stars will have used up all the fuel there is. Nothing to worry about though, that won’t happen for a very very very long time!

    What about length wise?

  2. The universe does not have dimensions in the same way we think of here on Earth.

This is because space (when combined with time) is curved. So this means that is doesn’t have an “edge”. It’s pretty difficult to get your head around it and even after all these years I’m not sure I have completely!
