Question: What does sea/marine life feed on in Antarctica if it's so cold, and why is life so different in the ocean there than to warm places?

  1. At a low level the antarctic waters are rich in plankton and krill so many fish and even whale feed on these. Then the larger animals like seals and penguins feed on fish. The fish and larger animals have evolved very complex blood circulation patterns to stop them from freezing. Also they have many behaviours that help them to keep warmer.
