I’m a Scientist is like school science lessons meet the X Factor! School students choose which scientist gets a prize of $1000 to communicate their work.
Scientists and students talk on this website. They both break down barriers, have fun and learn. But only the students get to vote.
This zone is the Boron Zone. It has a range of scientists studying all different topics. Who gets the prize? YOU decide!
I’m not sure what a “stardust” is. Do you mean nebulae? – that is the name given to places where stars are born. Basically I understand that clouds of gas and dust collapse under the force of gravity, getting hotter and eventually igniting nuclear fusion and a star is born.

Stardust is formed by giant old stars that are approaching the end of their lives. Basically, these stars are huge factories that make most of the elements we see in the universe. They spew the elements out into space, where they cool down and form molecules and then what we call “grains”. These grains of dust are made up of silicon, iron, magnesium and other metals. They form huge clouds that can be so thick that they can block out starlight!
